Our knowledge is vast, but there is still more of which we are ignorant: about biodiversity, ecosystem services, general, specific, applied, fundamental. Research breeds knowledge. Research is essential for underpinning new policies, for designing implementation programmes and for communicating these to those involved in actually rolling out the policies.
De Gemeynt initiates research in collaboration with a number of scientific institutes and networks, including Wageningen University, the Smithsonian Institute and Earthwatch.
De Gemeynt has experience in:
- Conducting research to develop monitoring methodologies and programmes.
- Designing and conducting field surveys, baseline studies, including data analysis and reporting.
- Designing and implementing fundamental and applied research projects and programmes for biodiversity conservation.
- Literature studies.
